Any worker over the age of 40 is entitled to legal protections from unfair treatment in the workplace because of his or her age. If you are being treated differently from younger employees in the workplace, you may have a claim for age discrimination against your employer. Examples of discriminatory treatment may include: losing your job and being replaced by a younger worker; being turned down for a job in favor of a younger worker with fewer qualifications; or being subject to harassment in the workplace because of your age. Both Pennsylvania and Federal law protect you from discriminatory treatment due to your age.
